Thursday Oct 10, Pontevedra to Caldas del Reis
Hotel
“Virgen del Camino Pontevedra”

After our "day off" in Pontevedra due to Hurricane Kirk, where we enjoyed walking, visiting the city, the market, and the old town, we left the following morning for Caldas de Reis, a walk of 21 kms . The weather was oke with some rain, and we noticed that we were getting closer to Santiago. Our next stop was Calda de Reis where we were booked into Hotel Sena, a very nice hotel at the end of the village. For lunch they served paella and that was the best treat ever!! It was delicious!!
Caldas de Reis, whose name literally translates as “Hot waters of the Kings” was in the outskirt of the town, but leaving the following morning, it was not too far to join the Camino again. When the rain stopped, we went out for a walk. It was a very nice old city with nice little bridges over the river Umia however unfortunately we missed the ancient Spa and healing waters.
